Summary

As Creative Director for the luxury jewelry atelier Eliantte, I spent five years solving complex visual identity problems for elite artists. The core challenge was taking an artist's music and aesthetic, then translating that intangible persona into a highly recognizable wearable object. These pieces needed to scale flawlessly, remaining legible whether photographed up close or viewed across massive stages.

My process relied heavily on cultural research and hand-drawn authenticity. For example, when designing Lil Wayne's custom chain, I rejected generic goat concepts and built an anthropomorphic design using sports logo architecture integrated exactly with his actual face tattoos. This disciplined restraint transformed basic ideas into singular masterpieces. The outcome elevated the atelier significantly. My original custom designs were published in a New York Times bestselling TASCHEN book, the book later becoming an American Museum of Natural History exhibition drawing millions of global visitors. I delivered flawless production-ready designs for Travis Scott, The Weeknd, and Hailey Bieber.

This role proved luxury product design and brand identity share the exact same critical discipline: designing for instant recognition at any distance while flawlessly capturing the client's genuine cultural narrative without relying on temporary trends or basic literal visual design translations within the luxury market.

The Challenge

Translating the intangible, highly guarded cultural personas of elite global talent (including Travis Scott, Lil Wayne, and DJ Mustard) into iconic, wearable physical objects. The core problem was twofold: stakeholder management and absolute physical risk.

I had to align Tier-1 artists and their management teams on a singular vision, while engineering designs for a zero-fail fabrication process. Because we were developing bespoke physical assets carrying up to $650,000 in material value, design errors or structural miscalculations carried massive capital, reputational, and commercial cost.

The Approach

Directed client-facing consultations to align abstract briefs with fabrication-ready specs. Bypassed generic literal interpretations, instead anchoring designs in deep cultural research and structured architectural references (such as sports logo mechanics). Engineered these pieces to scale flawlessly, ensuring instant brand recognition whether viewed in up-close editorial photography or across massive arena stages.

The Work

Hand-drawn from thumbnail to final. Up to five sketches per commission, narrowed to two directions for presentation. Clients included Lil Wayne, Travis Scott, The Weeknd, Hailey Bieber, City Girls, Rich the Kid, Young Dolph, DJ Mustard, and Roddy Ricch.

The Impact

High-Stakes Product Development: Directed the concept-to-fabrication design of physical brand assets carrying extreme capital risk, including bespoke products valued up to $650,000 (DJ Mustard) and multi-million-dollar collections.

Elite IP Translation: Successfully managed and translated the highly guarded, intangible personal IP of Tier-1 global talent (Travis Scott, Lil Wayne, The Weeknd) into iconic physical brand extensions.

Massive Earned Media (PR) Value: Engineered designs specifically for stadium-scale legibility and high-visibility media capture, resulting in viral coverage across platforms like TMZ, global arena tours, and the Grammy Awards.

Institutional Brand Longevity: Achieved permanent cultural placement for client assets, securing features in a New York Times bestselling TASCHEN publication (ICE COLD) and an American Museum of Natural History exhibition drawing millions of global visitors.
